De Kijkkasten presents a TADA project

29 june - 21 august 2012

For its exhibition in De Kijkkasten TADA wanted to create a striking presentation that leaves an overwhelming first impression but at the same time shows a subtle detailing. To accomplish this TADA invited artist Jan van der Ploeg.

24/7 exhibition space De Kijkkasten

Tucked away off one of Amsterdam’s liveliest shopping streets is a unique open-air gallery and exhibition space.

De Kijkkasten is located between Dam square and Central station and is a perfect place to escape from the throbbing Nieuwendijk.

De Kijkkasten are eight large double windows facing onto the street. They frame contemporary art in a very public space. Whether photographs, oils, video or another medium, every exhibition is devised specifically for this unusual but fantastic location. Exhibitions change every 7/8 weeks, so there’s always something fresh to enjoy. It is part of the street itself and is completely free to visit. Exhibitions are open 24/7 and you can stay for as long, or as little, as you like.
